Republic of Kazakhstan is the world’s largest landlocked country situated in the Central Asia with 2,724,900 square kilometers territory. Kazakhstan has an abundant supply of accessible mineral and fossil fuel resources. In total, there are 160 deposits with over 2,7 billion tones of petroleum.
Even though, such amount of oil and gas natural reserves country has set the goal that a transition to the Green Economy in Kazakhstan occur by 2050. The green economy is projected to increase GDP by 3% and create more than 5000 thousand new job places.
Raising public awareness from the school-age period on the benefits of the sustainable use of natural resources, energy saving and energy efficiency is an issue of high importance to the country tackling on the course of green economy for the coming decades.
